WHY IS FLOSSING SO IMPORTANT?
Our #1 priority is to educate and motivate our patients to achieve their best smile. The most frequently asked question we get from our patients is what should they do to get a healthy smile other than brush. FLOSS! Considering that your toothbrush can only clean 50% of the surfaces on your teeth, if you don’t floss EVERY TIME you brush, you are only getting half of your teeth cleaned.
Daily flossing helps prevent gum disease and dental cavities.
Floss...just use it. EVERYDAY. EVERY TIME. Listen, I get it. No one LOVES flossing. If I could invent something that replaces flossing, I would be a billionaire! Fancy toothpastes, water picks, mouthwashes, electric toothbrushes are all great but they do not replace flossing. Sorry. I personally recommend my patients to floss first that way you less likely to skip it.
Glide floss is my favorite because it is thin and silky and won't shred between tight spaces. But any floss will do as long you are using it DAILY!
